Research Abstract	生体内での水および電解質の恒常性維持は、生命にとって必要不可欠な生理活動である。このような生理活動は、外来神経と共に消化管に存在する壁内神経系により複雑に制御されている。近年、消化管壁内神経叢から多くの神経ペプチドが発見され、これらの神経ペプチドが消化管機能の制御機構の深く関与していることが明らかにさるつつある。本研究は、神経ペプチドにより消化管での水および電解質輸送の制御機構を明らかにしようとするものである。本年度は、形態学的研究による腸管壁内神経系の分類について新たな知見を得た。すなわち、小林、Dr.S.Tsuji及Dr.P.Angladeは免疫組織学的手法を用い粘膜下神経叢に存在する化学伝達物質の同定を行ない、VIPが粘膜上皮の基底膜側に存在することを、初めて電子顕微鏡レベルで確認した。また、アセチルコリンの局在についても、Dr.S.Tsujiを研究協力者に迎えautoradiographyによるアセチルコリンの局在に関する研究も行った。研究分担者の長島は、岡崎国立共同研究機構分子科学研究所から御茶の水女子大学に転出して日が浅く、フランスでの共同研究には参加できなかったが、distance Geometryを用いて、神経伝達物質の立体構造の研究を行った。その成果に基ずき、研究協力者の井上は、フランスで粘膜上皮でのイオン輸送に影響する神経伝達物質の、受容-認識機構についての分子生物学的研究の予備実験を行った。桑原は、これらの研究成果をベルギーでの国際消化管ホルモン学会で報告した。また、フランス側研究者と本年度に行われた研究の成果について討論すると共に、次年度の研究計画についても、農者の研究分担を明確にしさらに総合的な研究に発展させることで同意を得た。
