Research Abstract |
The process of industrial and economic development has been compared between Japan and Korea. The economies of both countries have been rapidly developed after the World War II and the common factors of such high rate of development have been analyzed. In Asian area, a kind of "flying geese model was proposed as the economic development stage model and the important role of small scale industries to support high-tech big firms was pointed out. A series of technological innovations and their diffusion were analyzed and international competitiveness of the industries was discusse. The discussion with Korean member at Seoul was fruitful and the mutual understanding has been deepened. The continuation of the joint research was strongly requested.
