Research Abstract

本年度に得られた主要な成果は以下の通りである。(平成4年12月10、11日に行われた研究会の講演要旨は、既に小冊子として印刷されている。)
1.高密度中性クラスターの発生:中性化した炭素クラスター(10量体)を高密度に収束させる実験を本年度も続行し(都立大グループ)、装置パラメーターの最適化により、濃度10^7個/cm^3の高密度化を達成した。既に、10^9個/cm^3達成の見通しがついている。
2.フラーレンの生成と物性:C_<60>、C_<70>以上の高次フラーレンの単離、NMR測定を始めとする種々の物性測定を行い、成長モデルを提案した。また、金属内包フラーレン、カーボンナノカプセル等の新した炭素メゾ粒子の生成にも成功している(都立大、三重大グループ)。
3.高密度メゾ粒子の高感度分光:炭素、Si、SiGe合金のクラスターをマトリックスに高密度で埋め込み、広範な分光測定により、クラスター特有の電子状態、振動状態を明かにした(神戸大グループ)。
4.トラップによるクラスターの閉じ込め:炭素クラスターの閉じ込め成功に引き続き、酸素分子との反応性を調べ、反応性のクラスターサイズ依存性を明かにした(都立大グループ)。
5.質量分析法等による多彩な研究:Naー金属クラスターのイオン化ポテンシャル(慶応大グループ)、希ガスクラスターの振動状態、安定性(東大グループ)、クラスターサイズによる化学結合の変化(阪大グループ)、クラスター凝縮(中央大グループ)等に関する研究が進んでいる。
