| Research Abstract |
本研究では重点領域研究(超冷中性子)の各研究計画が効果的に進められるよう計画の検討、指導、援助を行い、それぞれの研究で大きな成果を得ることができた。更に公募研究で生まれた新しいアイデアを計画研究に生かして新しい研究の芽を積極的に育てることができた。その主なものは
○中性子と原子核との反応におけるパリティ非保存の増幅メカニズムを解明した。
○高温陽子偏極とランタン核の動的偏極に成功した。
○冷中性子と超流動ヘリウムとの散乱断面積の温度依存性を測定した。またUCN測定器を開発した。
○5面鏡型スーパーミラーを用いたタービンによって超冷中性子を発生させた。
○2枚の多層型ミラーを同一基板上に蒸着したミラー対を2個並べた干渉計によって初めて冷中性子の干渉に成功した。また、多層膜ミラーと中性子スピンエコー法を組み合わせた干渉装置を用いて観測問題の新しい実験を行った。
○CPの破れの起源を種々の理論的観点から徹底的に追求した。
○多ヒルベルト空間論によって観測問題を取扱い、「波束の収縮」について重要な知見を得た。
等である。これらの成果に関して討論を行い、今後の発展を検討するために数回にわたり打合せを行った。更にこれまでの全体の成果をまとめて報告書を作成した。また中性子による基礎物理学の今後の発展の方向を探り、本研究の成果を発表するために代表者をドブナ研究所(ロシア)に派遣し、新しいアイディアの検討を行った。
