| Research Abstract |
重点領域研究(超冷中性子)が効果的に進められるよう各研究計画の検討、調整を行ない、大きな成果を得ることができた。更に公募研究で生まれた新しいアイディアを育て、それを計画研究に生かして新しい研究を進める努力を行なった。なかでも以下のものを重点的に推進した。
・中性子と原子核との反応における弱いマトリックス・エレメントを決定した。
・常温及び窒素温度において陽子の動的偏極に成功した。
・冷中性子と超流動ヘリウムとの散乱断面積の温度依存性を測定解析した。またUCN測定器を開発した。
・小型5面鏡型スーパーミラーを用いたタービンによって超冷中性子を発生させた。
・2枚の多層膜ミラーを同一基板上に蒸着したミラー対を2個並べた干渉計によって冷中性子の干渉に成功した。また、それを用いてダブル・シュテルン・ゲルラッハ実験、遅延選択の新しい実験を行なった。
・CPの破れの起源を種々の理論的観点から追求した。
・多ヒルベルト空間論によって観測問題を取扱い、重要な知見を得た。
などである。これらの成果に関して討論を行なった。更にこれまでの全体の成果をまとめて基礎物理学の今後の発展の方向を探り、本研究成果を発表するために代表者をポーランド、ドイツ及びイヤリヤに派遣し、新しいアイディアの検討を行った。
