| Research Abstract |
「生物の多種共存を促進する相互作用機構」を基本的テーマに、広範な分野からの研究者を結集して超領域の共同研究をもって挑む企てが、平成3年度から6年度までの4年間にわたって展開された重点領域研究「地球共生系」である。本研究は同重点領域研究の総括班が企画担当するもので、その目的は4年間にわたるこの共同研究プロジェクトの研究成果を、それが終了した段階で、研究プロジェクトの参加者および関係領域の専門家を交えて、評価・検討することにあった。この目的を達成するために、次の事業を行なった。
1)研究プロジェクト後半に指定されたコア・プロジェクトのうちで、とくに今後の発展が期待される動植物相互作用系に関するワークショップを開き、新しい重点領域研究への展望が開けた。
2)本重点領域研究からの報告として平成6年度から刊行を開始した、本の第2シリーズ「共生の生態学」を引き続き刊行した。
3)本重点領域研究の参加者全員が、本研究の中から各々得た最も本質的で重要な研究成果のポイントをそれぞれ簡潔にまとめた。
4)以上のまとめおよび第2シリーズ「共生の生態学」を基礎資料として、総括研究グループのメンバーを中心に、本重点領域研究全体として生態学においてどういう新しい流れを生み出せたかについて、評価検討した。
5)以上の結果を報告書としてまとめた。
