Research Abstract |
The purpose of the study wa to survey of the contemporary art and design since 1960s, from the view point of the mass production of images through the electronic media. In 1992 each member purchased books on the matter, some collected and pieonholed pictures and made date-base on the contemporary art and design. In 1993 each member presented their reports and discussed on the subject summerizing following. Yoshizumi examined the development of the media art and interpreted media imagea as a revolution of artistic conciousness at the level of daily work and life. Yabu started the study from the investigation of the design history, pointed out parallel and discrepany phenomena and insisted the necessity of reezamination of the idea of design history. Watanabe clarified the meaning of the form of products and the meaning of the products from the structuralistic view point. Habe reexamined the decoration and ornament of contemporary design, Mizuno and Toyohara media design and art and Ito the contemporary photographies. Miyajima discussed the general meaning of these studies.
