| Research Abstract |
We selected 11 cities as objects of this survey and classified them into 4 types : Regional Capital Cities (Sapporo, Fukuoka, Hirosima, Sendai), Traditional Local Center Cities : Prefectural Capital Cities (Okayama, Matuyama, Knazawa), Local Cities or Small Local Cities (Ube, Innoshima, Takahasi), and Constructing Cities : Technopolis (Kamogawa-cho, Kayo-cho).we have analayzed them comparatively on the basis of Setouchi cities. Our fact bindings from this survey are given below.
1.In the Regional Capital Citizens, cities of Sapporo, Fukuoka, Sendai, have urbanized and modernized impression of their own city. But citizen of Hirosima don't think so.
2.Enumerating best and second image of each Regional Capital City, Sapporo : a tourist city(71.9%) a comercial, financial and service city(45.3%) Fukuoka : a comercial, financial and service city(67.4%) a branch city(56.1%) Sendai : a comercial, financial and service city(47.2%) a local city(41.7%) Hiroshima : a peace city(62.5%), a local city(51.o%)
3.Totally, evaluations of Hiroshima are inferior to the other Regional Capital Cities'and the other Local Center Cities'.
4.Also other items of the survey shows that each city has own individuality on their character.
