Research Abstract	銀河系の構造と進化の問題は観測的宇宙論の展開の出発点となる。一方この問題は,位置天文学・天体力学・恒星系力学・恒星進化論・銀河天文学・宇宙論の知見を総合してはじめて解決され,銀河系の構造・進化に関するスタンダード・モデルが完成する。この総合研究の初年度の目的は,恒星の運動・物理に関する現代的データ及び基礎データ取得手段である位置天文衛星の積極利用という観点から,位置天文から宇宙論にわたる共同研究の電要性をまず認識できるような研究交流の場を設けることであった。 1992年12月,3日間にわたる「銀河系天文学とスペース・アストロメトリ研究会」を開催し,7つのセッション,Stellar Astronomy,Central Part of the Galaxy,Galactic Disk,Global Dynamics,Astrometric Impacts on the Galactic Astronomy,Galactic Environment,Cosmological Problems,を通して活発な研究交流が行なわれた。研究会の内容は集録に収められている。予算の大部分はこの研究会開催のために使われた。さらに,1993年3月,3日間にわたって集中レビュー形式の「Cosmological Distance Ladder 天文講座」を開講し、位置天文学から宇宙論にわたった天文学的距離推定の問題の解決法をさぐった。多数の参加者があり、好評であった。講義原稿は残されたが、今年度の予算では講義録の出版はできなかった。
