Research Abstract	平成6年度は、本研究計画の最終年度にあたる。昨年度全国からの関係者を招いて行った研究集会において、其の時点での研究状況を総括し最終年度の研究指針を定めた。其の結果による本年度の活動は以下のようにまとめられる。 (1)量子重力理論はくりこみ不可能の為、摂動的な解析が許されない。この困難を回避し其の動力学的な解析をするためにいくつかの簡略化された模型が考察された。其の一つは、2又は3次元の重力理論である。低次元では重力子の自由度が存在しないので発散の困難が回避される。特に2次元理論では弦理論と等価なため、行列模型や繰りこみ群の方法でトポロジーの足し上げが実行された。また、ある種の低次元理論に於いてはBlack hole解が存在し、其の量子力学的な性質が詳しく考察された。また一方では、局所的な自由度がすべて非物理的になるような位相場の理論も多くの注目を引いた。とくに、2次元の位相的共形場は、上述のトポロジーの足し上げに幾何学的な描像を与え、相補的な定式化を与えてくれた。また弦理論に於いては、非臨界弦の場の理論や種々の2次元的対称性に基づいた弦理論を、一つの「普遍的な理論」の様々な解として統一的に記述する「普遍弦理論」の試みもなされた。 (2)上記のアプローチとは逆に高次元から4次元理論に迫る方法もある。本年度は6次元の時空におけるU(1)ゲージ理論から出発して、4次元時空に多様なゲージ対称性を持つ理論を誘導する事が可能である事を示した。これは、一種のBerry位相効果として理解出来る。 (3)弦や共形場理論において開発された数学的手法を、統計力学系やその他の問題の解析に応用した。XXZ-スピン模型の解析、共形場の理論と膜の理論が微生物の遊泳の力学の解析に応用された事などは大きな成果であった。
