Research Abstract |
(1) As for the investigation in 1993, basic philosophy of the Life Environmental Studies(a new subject which was introduced to all Japanese elementary schools in 1992) in teacher's university curriculum was clarified. Then we proposed ideal teaching contents and methods according to the teaching staffs and situations to the subject in our university. (2) Through our researches for teaching situations to the subject in teacher's universities all over Japan in 1992, we found each teacher's university had its own unique curriculum reflected to the teacher organization. Then we also found it is very difficult to construct common curriculum of the Life Environmental Studies in Japanese universities. (3) The newly introduced subject, "Life Environmental Studies" has begun to innovate teaching methods in Japanese teacher's universities from lecture-centered to activity-centered owing to the original objectives of that subject. (4) We recognized there were similar subjects in Asian and European countries as the Life Environmental Studies in Japan through the foreign textbooks. However, we could get only a few information how to train undergraduates to teach that subject in foreign teacher's universities.
