Research Abstract	本研究により、太陽コロナやフレアのダイナミックな現象について、従来の考え方をくつがえす思いがけない発見が行われた。主な成果について述べる。 (1)太陽フレア:磁気リコネクション説を、強く支持する観測結果が見つかった。 (2)コロナの構造変化と磁気リコネクション:X線画像のムービーにより、コロナ磁場が、数分から数時間の時間スケールで、大規模な構造変化を繰り返していることが発見された。 (3)マイクロフレアとコロナの加熱:活発な活動領域で、マイクロフレアとでも呼ぶべき小さい爆発現象が頻繁に起きていることが発見された。複数の小さい磁気ループが接触・融合しつつ、爆発現象を起こしているように見える。 (4)コロナの温度:活動領域の温度は、スカイラブ衛星やコロナ輝線の観測から、約2百万度と考えられてきた。本研究により、これらの温度成分の他に、4-5百万度に達する高温成分が大量にあることが発見された。 (5)剛体回転するコロナホール:南北に長く伸びる、細長いチャンネル状のコロナルホールが見つかった。このようなホールは、何周にも渡ってほとんどその形を変えず、剛体回転に近い運動をしている。 (6)活動領域からの質量放出と太陽風の起源:太陽の縁に見える活動領域の磁気ループが頻繁に膨張・上昇運動をしているのが発見された。 (7)細い磁力管:静穏太陽には、太さが数秒角しかなく、長さが太陽半径近い、表面を低く這うような磁力線が見つかり、活動領域にも、非常に細く明るい磁力線が見つかった。 (8)浮上磁場からのX線放射とジェット現象:コロナに顔をだしたばかりの浮上磁場から、強いX線放射がが発見され、さらに秒速数100km/secに達するX線ジェットが見つかった。
