Research Abstract	1.統計学.山本はベータ2項分布およびフォン・ミーゼス分布をめぐる推測の最適化に関する研究をした。2.計算機統計学.一村、木村らは、制約条件で最適値を求める際に、定義域を逐次縮小して探索する手法を研究し、既存の解析手法が、適用困難な問題に対して有効に用いられるようにした。また、MS-DOSベースの汎用統計解析システムMicro-NISANへのQC関連機能の追加およびMS-Windows環境への移植に取り組み、他に計算機システムの操作環境の最適設計にも取り組んだ。3.数値解析学.仁木、澤見、榊原、は主に固有値問題に対する境界要素法の最適な適用についての研究をした。4.実験計画法.藤井、兵頭は、直交配列は直交型一部実施要因計画を与え、実験計画の種々の組合せ論の領域において有効であることを示した。5.グラフ理論.渡辺(守)は、美術館問題に関するO'Rourkeの予想およびこれに関連して提起される問題について研究した。また、計算幾何学におけるMirzaianの予想の反例を構成した。6.数式処理.坂本、中川は応用数理学会、数式処理研究会に於いて多次元最適化の問題を数式処理で処理する方法について研究した。7.確率課程.渡辺(寿)は、ブラウン運動に関連した研究をした。8.幾何学.玉村はq=8,2pの場合のj重懸垂歪レンズ空間S^J(L^m_q/L^n_q)のKO群とJ群を決定した。9.解析学.引田は階位空間の方法による微分論の一応用として、極値の判定定理とその適用例を与えた。
