| Research Abstract |
本研究は,大マゼラン雲に出現した超新星SN1987Aの提起した多くの新しい知見・未解決の問題点の中で,2つの大きな問題の解明をはかることを目的とした。すなわち,(1)中心部に形成されたはずのパルサーが,その誕生直後にどのような特性(回転,磁場等)をもっていたか,どのような形で観測されるか,(2)ハッブル宇宙望遠鏡によって明らかにされた,超新星の周りのリング状の星周物質の起源は何か,今後予想される超新星とリングの衝突で何が起こりどのように観察されるかを予測することである。
1993年3月末に,近傍の銀河M81に出現した超新星1993Jは,超新星1987Aと同様,多くの新しい知見・未解決の問題をもたらした。これらは,上記の課題と共通しており,それに関する研究が本年の中心課題となった。
(1)の誕生直後のパルサーに関しては,超新星1993Jによって作られたパルサーが,1993年2月に打ち上げられたX線天文衛星ASCAによって観察される可能性があることを明らかにした。
(2)の超新星と星周物質との相互作用については,その衝突の流体力学的計算のを実行し,その時に形成される高温プラズマからのX線放射を計算した。この理論と,ASCA,ROSAT,OSSEによるX線観測データとを比較検討することにより,星周物質の物理状態や爆発の規模を推定した。
また,超新星1987AからのX線が最近になってROSATによって観察されたが,そのデータから,爆発前の青色超巨星からの質量放出率を推定した。それに基づき,ASCAによってX線が観察される可能性を調べた。
