Research Abstract |
(1)Flow cytometric analysis of the cell cycle in brain tumors. Flow cytometory (FCM) has been an effective method to abtain the biological aspects of brain tumors. We can clarify the mechanism of anticancer agents such as 1-hexycarbamoy 1-5 fluouracil, CDDP, MCNU and TNF. (2)Expression of oncogene products in brain tumors. In established brain tumor cells strains, immunohistochemical and flow cytometric methods are useful for evaluation of the positivity of c-myc products expression. (3)Development of FISH method for detection of chromosome abnomality. 1)Chromosome numbers of 7,9,10,17 were dectected in glioma cell lines by FISH method. 2)Chromosome numbers of 7,17 were high in gliomas obtained by surgical operation. 3)Meningioma showed low chromosome numbers of 22, but high chromosome numbers of 22 in recurrent cases. (4)Detection of chromosome abnomality with use of paraffin embeded specimen. We succeeded to detect the chromosome numbers with use of paraffin blocks, which was correlated with fresh specimen.
