Research Abstract

The expression of receptors for Fc portion(FcR) of immunoglobulin G(IgG) and for a C3b component of complement (C3bR) by herpes simplex virus (HSV) was studied in primary cultures of rabbits corneal cells. And biological feature of the receptors were also investigated. Monolayr cultures of epithelial cells of the rabbit cornea were infected with HSV.Rosette methods were used to detect receptors by means of sheep erythrocytes sensitized with rabbit IgG for FcR.Furthermore normal rabbit IgG and Fc fragmment were incubated with HSV infected cells and compared to nontreated control cells in amount of viral replication in the cells.
At result, the FcR were expressed regularly on epithelial cells by the HSV strain used. The FcR was induced by HSV and was blocked by Fc fragment and normal IgG.We find also that when the HSV-induced Fc receptor is engaged with IgG or Fc fragments, viral replication is inhibited.
