Research Abstract	1)共同研究の実施平成5年8月26〜27日札幌市において、本年度国際共同研究に向けての日本研究者による打ち合わせが行われた。同年11月28日〜12月12日に米ヴァージニア大学、ノースウエスタン大学、ロックフェラ-大学で共同研究が行われた。 2)研究実績 (1)生物振動の分子生物学的機構:マウス(J.Takahashi)、アカパンカビ(中島)で新しい時計変異種が分離された。また、生物振動に特定遺伝子の転写、翻訳、蛋白生合成の各過程が関与していることが示された(M.Young)。また、光による振動調節にも蛋白合成が関与していることが示唆された(井上)。 (2)生物振動をもちいた測時機構:概日振動が1個のニューロンの静止膜電位で初めて示され、Caイオンチャンネルの関与が強く示唆された(G.Block)。多細胞生物では、複数の振動ニューロンの相互作用により、より安定した振動機構が形成されること(千葉)、振動体間の相互作用の変化によっても測時機能に大きな変化が生じること(M.Menaker)が示された。また哺乳類では、概日振動の調節に重要な光が複数の伝達物質を介して作用していること(柴田)、その光作用は特殊な視細胞を介していること(海老原)が示された。 (3)測時機構の調節機序:概日性測時機構の光同調では、両生類(青木)や鳥類(海老原)ではメラトニンが、哺乳類では興奮性アミノ酸(篠原)の重要性が示された。さらに、ヒト睡眠覚醒リズムの動物モデルとしてメトアンフェタミン処置ラットが提唱され(本間さと)、ヒトでは測時機構の光による位相調節機序(本間研一)、同調不全と睡眠障害との因果関係(高橋)、成長ホルモンの変周期調節(M.Thorner)が示された。
