| Research Abstract |
今年度も近接連星系における降着現象の研究を行った。とくに巨星から星風がコンパクト天体に吹き付けてくる場合、つまり星風降着流の数値シミュレーションを行った。今までわれわれは2次元平板対称の場合に、流れが極めて不安定になることを示した。問題はこの現象が現実的な3次元の場合にも生じるのかということであった。本研究では、数値流体力学のもっとも進んだ方法ENO法を用いて、星風降着の3次元数値シミュレーションを行った。その結果、流れには多少の不安定性はあるものの、バウ衝撃はが大きく首を振るようなことはなく、基本的には安定であることを見出した。
またSPH法を用いて降着流を研究するために、われわれは東大教養学部の杉本研究室が開発したGRAPEボードを導入し、SUN互換機にすえつけた。これを用いての研究は現在進行中であり、今後結果が期待される。
