Research Abstract	「超重元素探索」:^<209>Bi(^<40>Ar,αχn)^<246-α>E_6反応の断面積を再評価し、α2n反応の断面積が2n反応の50倍程度大きいことがわかった。大強度ビームに耐える回転式標的の開発に成功し、110番以上の元素を合成する準備が整った。クローン障壁付近の融合反応断面積の系統的な測定を行ない、安定核^<27>Alに比べ中性子過剰核^<29,31>Alの断面積が増大していることがわかった。大型のガス検出器を完成させて天体核反応を測定した。「中性子過剰核」:陽子と中性子過剰核の弾性散乱、非弾性散乱、核子ノックアウト反応の実験を行なった。ビームとしてH,He,Li,Beの同位体を用いた。これらの実験によって多くの新しい励起状態を発見した。また、この逆運動学的方法によって不安定核の基底状態と励起状態の情報を系統的に得られることがわかった。「高スピン原子核」:セグメント型Ge検出器を中心とした高精度のガンマ線検出器系の性能テストを行ない、ドップラー効果の補正に大きな力を発揮すること・S/N比のよいスペクトルを得られること・ガンマ線の直線偏光を測定できること、がわかった。窓無しのガス標的系を製作し、0.5-1.0mg/cm^2厚のガス標的が使用可能になった。「不安定核の理論」:東京大学のグループは、量子モンテカルロ対角比法を発展させ、様々な核に対して大規模殻模型計算を行なった。3次元空間での時間依存ハートリーフォック計算による融合および多核子移行反応の計算を行なった。確率論的変分法により中性子ハロ-核の構造研究を進めた。京都大学のグループは反対称化分子動力学により、核構造と核反応の研究を行なった。各構造では、Cの同位体の磁気能率の研究および陽子変形と中性子変形の大きな相違の研究を行なった。核反応では、核媒質中での核子・核子反応断面積に関する研究や、破砕反応に現われる核構造の情報に関する研究を行なった。新潟大学のグループは、軽い不安定核に顕著な非一様密度系の物理量および共鳴状態のパラメーターなどを精密に計算するために確率論的変化法をさらに改良し、適用範囲を拡大した。非中心力を含む現実的核力の系や、共鳴状態のエネルギーや幅の計算へ適用し、これまでの方法に比べて優れていることを示した。東北大学のグループは、相対論的平均場近似を用いて中重核から重核にかけての核構造の研究を不安定核や超変形核を含めて行なった。核反応研究としては、不安定核を入射核とする重イオン核反応、極低エネルギーでの核融合反応についての研究を行なった。
