| Research Abstract |
1993年10月に2年間にわたる黒潮および黒潮反流の共同集中観測[ASUKA」を開始して以来,大学や官庁など観測船によって四国沖での黒潮の流量と熱流量を推定するための観測が繰り返し精力的に行われている.1994年9月には,1993年に設置した流速計を回収し,同様のものを再設置した.得られた最初の1年間の係留流速計の記録と,その間に繰り返し行われたASUKA測船沿いのCTD/XBT観測のデータを組み合わせて,黒潮の絶対的な地衡流を求め,その断面積分から黒潮の絶対流量を求めた.さらに,黒潮の流量が黒潮の両端の水位差と非常に高い相関をもつことが明らかになったので,その関係を使って,人工衛星TOPEX/POSEIDONの海面高度計データから,黒潮の絶対流量の約2年間にわたる時系列を得た.得られた流量の時系列は,平均が56Sv(1Svは106m3/sec),標準偏差が17Svであった.流量の時間変化には年周期変化よりも半年に近い周期の変化が卓越していた.ただしこの流量には,黒潮の南側に存在する高気圧性の暖水渦に伴う局所的な循環の流量も含まれているので,今後,黒潮の正味の通過流の流量を求めるために,この局所的な循環流の流量の時間変化を正しく求める必要がある.
1995年11月には,第2年目の係留系が回収され,合わせて2年間にわたる係留流速計データが得られるはずなので,これらの解析をさらに進めたい.同時に,黒潮の流軸位置や流速断面の時間変化に関する解析も行いたいまた今回は使えなかったが,海底に設置してあるIES(倒立音響測探器)の2年間のデータから,黒潮の流量の圧的な変動に関する情報が得られるので,これらを海面高度計データなどと組み合わせて,さらに精度の高い流量の推定を行う予定である.
