Research Abstract |
Objective of the present research was establishment of hardware and software for a chemical substance circulation model in geophysical and biological sphere. Results are as follows : 1. Preparation of global environmental data set : Data set of global environment was prepared as an input data for simulating the chemical substance circulation in geophysical and biological sphere. It includes topography, general circulation of atmosphere and ocean, global distributions of soil, vegetation and emission of carbon dioxide and methane, etc. 2. Establishment and validation of sophisticated models (sub-models) of chemical substance circulation in three subsystems of global environment, i.e., terrestrial ecosystem, ocean and atmosphere 3. Comprehensive model of chemical substance circulation in geophysical and biological sphere (master model) : By modeling the interaction among three sub-systems, i.e., terrestrial ecosystem, ocean and atmosphere, a comprehensive model of chemical substance circulation in geophysical and biological sphere was finally established. 4. Publishing the research report : Part I of the research report contains introductory explanations of model structure, contents, limitation of each submodels and their applications. Part II is collection of papers on model descriptions and applications which have been published in authorized journals.
