| Research Abstract |
本研究は「造血幹細胞制御と臨床応用に向けての基礎研究」(以下「造血幹細胞制御」という)を重点領域研究として申請する準備のために行なわれたものである。幸いにして上記の申請が採択され、平年6年度から平成9年度までの4年間研究が行なわれることになった。そこで本総合研究では重点領域「造血幹細胞制御」の申請時の原案に手なおしを行って、より合理的な組織に組み変えるとともに、重点領域研究「造血幹細胞制御」の運営について、あらかじめ検討することにした。まず「造血幹細胞制御」は申請時には4個の計画研究課題からなっていたが、これを3個の計画研究課題に組み変えた。当初の計画研究課題は(1)造血幹細胞の単離と増幅(7人)(2)造血幹細胞への遺伝子導入(6人)(3)造血幹細胞の定着・増殖・分化・死のシグナル(6人)(4)造血調節因子(7人)であったが、(2)の造血幹細胞への遺伝子導入は重点領域「造血幹細胞制御」中に含めるよりも「遺伝子治療」という観点から、より包括的に取り扱う方が適当と考えて除き、(1)造血幹細胞の単離と増幅(8人)(2)造血幹細胞の定着・増殖・分化・死のシグナル(8人)(3)造血調節因子(8人)の3計画研究課題とした。平成5年9月7日には東大医科研で、ほぼ全班員の出席のもとに本総合研究Bの班会議を行い、重点領域研究「造血幹細胞制御」の運営や同重点領域で主催あるいは後援するシンポジウム・ワークショップについても協議した。また同重点領域の班会議を平成6年10月27、28日の両日に行なうこととした。この班会議の直前に国際細胞分化学会が広島で行なわれるので、出席予定の外国人研究者に班会議で講演してもらうことも考慮中である。また幸いにして谷口工業奨励会の援助が得られることになったので、平成6年12月18日から20日まで外国人研究者10人程度を招待するとともに、重点領域研究参加者から10人程度を選んで「造血幹細胞制御」に関する国際シンポジウムを開催することになった。
