| Research Abstract |
平成5年度は、二次元系の研究の基礎となる三次元化合物としてバナジウムを含むV_2O_3,SrVO_3,RVO_3(R:La,Ce)を中心に試料合成を行い、X線回析による構造、相転移の検討、SQUIDによる磁化測定、核磁気共鳴測定を行った。得られた結果をまとめると、
1.V_2O_<3+x>,(V,Ti)_2O_3 V_2O_3のTi固溶体および酸素不定比化合物の金属相において10K近傍に反強磁性磁気秩序をみいだした。帯磁率はV^<3+>がになうV_2O_3の帯磁率と新たに生じたV^<4+>の寄与の和であらわされるキュリー・ワイス的挙動を示し、電荷の分離がみられる。核磁気共鳴実験によると、^<51>VのナイトシフトはV_2O_3と同様、キュリー・ワイス的挙動を示すが、80K以下で急激に減少するスピンギャップ的挙動が観測された。
2.SrVO_3 SrVO_3について^<17>O置換体を合成し^<51>V,^<17>O核磁気共鳴測定を行った。^<51>Vのナイトシフト(約0.15%)はパウリ常磁性を反映して温度変化を示さない。^<17>Oのナイトシフトはほとんどゼロで電子状態はO^<2->イオン的である。縦緩和時間T_1は^<51>V,^<17>Oとも低温では通常の金属で期待されるコリンハ的挙動(T_1T=一定)を示し、電子相関は弱いと考えられる。
3.RVO_3(R:La,Ce) LaVO_3は室温では斜方晶であり145Kに構造相転移をもつ。低温X線回析より、低温相は単斜晶相であることを明らかにした。これは、異なる内部磁場をもつ二種類のサイトの存在を示す核磁気共鳴測定結果とも矛盾せず、相転移温度以下でみられる大きな反磁性や残留磁化などの挙動は異なる磁気モーメントをもつ二つの副格子からなるフェリ磁性体(T_c=145K)として説明できる。一方、磁性イオンCe^<3+>をもつCeVO_3では構造相転移(140K)は格子定数の大きく異なる斜方晶間の転移であるが、やはり磁気秩序をともなう。低磁場での磁化曲線にCe^<3+>副格子のスピンフロップと思われる挙動も観測した。
