Research Abstract	HTLV-1tax遺伝子がリウマチの病因遺伝子としての特性を次の点より明らかにした。 1)正常滑膜細胞にtax遺伝子を導入したところ、強力な増殖能力を獲得するとともに正常の細胞増殖に必要なプロトオンコジーンやサイトカイン遺伝子の発現を誘導した。また、滑膜細胞においては、遂にアポトーシスの誘導も認めた。 2)tax遺伝子を導入した滑膜細胞の系においてclassII分子及びCD4^+CTLの誘導が確認された。この事実は、tax遺伝子が滑膜細胞の免疫の標的細胞に誘導することを初めて明らかにしたものである。 3)HTLV-1は、滑膜に直接的に介する系統と免疫応答子を介してサイトカインのシグナル伝達機構が関与することを明らかにした。 4)RA滑膜細胞は関節滑膜の浸潤T細胞は、抗Fas抗体の感受性が存在することを明らかにした。 5)RAの滑膜固有細胞に単クローン性の細胞集団が存在することを明らかにし、その細胞株を樹立し、遺伝子解析を行っている。
