Research Abstract |
In his "Development of Social Hierarchy. Conditions of Life and Senses of Value in Modern Osaka." T.IIirokawa presents outlines of our study, sources gathered and classified, and articles related to our project. With "Interim Report on Documents of Kagiya Mohei", T.Tsukada and S.Ohno report, of these documents, their basic character and actual state of classification, saying that these documents, consisting of familial documents, ones concerning Doshocho and ghild of drug brokers, are, however, for the most part familial ones, and that, by contrasing them with other documents of Doshocho and commercial association (Kabunakama), one can reconstitute in various ways the space inhabited by drug brokers. T.Hirokawa maintains in his " On the Young Teachers' Association of Japan (Nihon Seinen Kyoshidan) and Related Sources" that this Association was a voluntary movement which supported the New Constitution Movement (Shintaisei Undo), and that the analysis of this Association in historical perspective will show us the process of its integration into the Imperial Rule Assistance Association (Taisei Yokusankai). Moreover, he maintains, the historical analysis of this Association will give us some clues to the problem of continuity (or discontinuity) of teacher' mentality before and after the War. Of this Association, he also reports outlines of oral data and source inventory, which are included in our report. In his "Subcontract System in the Wartime Economy, " H.Ueda analyzes the process in which developed, after the summer of 1943, a policy for subcontract-cooperation system and small businesses were affiliated. This policy, which aimed at the reorganization of the system of order, cooperation and affiliation between small factories, was made, emphasizes Ueda, by revising the preceding one for adaptation to the actual situation, but it wasnot easy to carry out this policy owing to the conditions of materials, labor and production.
