Research Abstract	(1)子嚢菌類の天狗巣病菌Taphrina wiesneri、オニタビラコ浮腫病菌Protomyces inouyei、不完全酵母Saitoella complicataについて、核18SリボソームRNAをコードしている領域をPCR法で増幅し、増幅部分を精製後シーケナーゼで塩基配列を決定した。得られた塩基配列を比較し、近隣結合法および最大節約法(PAUP Ver.3.0)を用いて樹型の統計学的評価を伴う系統樹を作成し、多角的に供試分類群の系統進化を解析した。その結果、これら3種は、"真の"子嚢菌類とは大きく隔たった、子嚢菌類中で最初に分岐した。"Archiascomycetes"(古生子嚢菌類)とも呼ぶべき主要系統群を構成し、これにはさらに分裂酵母Schizosaccharomyces pombe、カリニ肺炎菌Pneumocystis cariniiが結合することを明らかにした。(2)担子菌酵母の代表種Rhodosporidium toruloidesほか6属6基準種について同様の方法で塩基配列を決定し、系統解析した。その結果、供試分類群は大きく2つの系統群に分かれ、細胞壁微細構造、菌体キシロースの有無とよい相関性が認められた。特に、従来フィロバシジウム科に位置づけられていたErythrobasidium hasegawianumはテリオスポア形成酵母系統群に含まれた。(3)テリオスポア形成酵母群のLeucosporidium属の化学分類学形質を調べた。(4)担子菌酵母7属代表種8種および不完全酵母1種の細胞壁・隔壁孔の微細構造を透過型電子顕微鏡を用いて調べた。(5)分子系統学の基礎である分子系統樹作成および系統解析に関係する研究を行った。以上のうち、(1)-(4)までは杉山が、(5)は斎藤が分担した。
