| Research Abstract |
1.本研究の目的の一つは,筆者等が開発し,名古屋大学大型計算機センターのプログラムライブラリとして登録されている文字認識や文書理解のためのプログラムを,ワークステーション(EWS)あるいはパソコンへ移植し,一般利用者に提供することであるので,初年度の研究は,そのための環境設定を主目的にして行った。
即ち,豊田高専にEWSを設置し,名古屋大学大型計算機センターに登録してある,文字認識用プログラムライブラリSMARTの移植を実施した。従来,汎用コンピュータ上で動作していたため,ジョブ制御言語(JCL)を用いてプログラムが動作するようになっているものを,UNIXのシェルスクリプトを使ってEWS上でも動作するようにした。SMARTを構成するプログラムは,全てFORTRAN言語で書かれているが,UNIX配下で多様されているC言語によるプログラムからも引用して利用できるようにした。
2.文字認識実験に使用する共通データとして,電子技術総合研究所が作成した「ETL手書き文字データベース」をCD-ROM形式でワークステーションシステムに移植した。ETL手書き文字データベースに格納されている約117万文字のディジタルデータ化された文字データを,著作権を有する電子技術総合研究所の了解を得て,三重大学・豊田高専・中部大学でも,文字認識実験ができるようにした。
3.ライブラリの利用手引き書の作成と整備を実施中であり,既にサブプログラム部分の手引書は80%完成した。
