Research Abstract |
This study exsamines interarea mobility of Kasaokaisland's people. Post World War II,Kasaokaisland's people had decreased extremely and they had flowed out to cities, especially Kobe and Osaka. There are some of factors to promote thier mobility, that is to find employment, to marry, to give their children education of good quality and to take medical treatment. Those, flowed out to cities, reach the retirement age, they return to their homeisland. They are old men and their wifes. In due time man is dead and his wife survives alone. In the island there are many aging women living alone. That is serious family problems. Possibility that return to their homeisland, is 50 %. Those, flow in home island, cause concurrently occupational mobility. Generally they become without occupation. Those, return to their home island in young generation, carry on a self-supporting occupation. That is marine transportation, fishing or ston processing industry etc. In the island there is no organization that they can not work. Kasaokaisland's people flow out cities to improve their quality of life. But in advanced age they return again to homeisland. Therefore they do not disposal their estate, and keep up to interchange with home island people while they live in the cities.
