| Research Abstract |
Microcystic meningiomaは、光顕的に多数のmicrocystより構成され、腫瘍細胞がchicken wire様の組織像を呈するmeningiomaの一亜型である。従来、microcyst形成機序に関し、変性と理解されていたが、研究代表者は、arachnoid trabecular cellへの分化であることを提唱している。
今回は、正常クモ膜下腔及び電顕的にmicrocystic meningiomaと診断された腫瘍に対し、GST-π染色を行った。その結果、正常クモ膜下腔内に存在するarachnoid trabecular cellも、microcystic meningioma内に存在するarachnoid trabecular cellも、ともに強陽性を示した。
このことにより、arachnoid trabecular cellが正常クモ膜下腔において支持細胞としての働きを持つのみならず、解毒作用を有する細胞としての働きも持っていることが判明した。またmicrocystic meningioma内のarachnoid trabecular cellも同様の性格を有していると思われる。
