トビイロカゲロウ属の繁殖行動と機械的精子置換

Research Abstract	トゲトビイロカゲロウ(P.spinosa)の繁殖行動について観察した結果、本種の♀は石礫の堆積した岸ぎわで産卵すること/♂が産卵場所上空で群飛し飛来する♀を捕らえること/地上で交尾することなどが判明した。その配偶行動を詳しく観察すると、♂が交尾中に特異なピストン運動をすることが見いだされ、♀交尾器に嚢状の前庭があることや♂陰茎にシャベルのような部位があることを考え併せると、交尾時に精子置換をしている可能性が考えられた。トビイロカゲロウ属の成虫標本を各地より収集し検鏡した結果、本属の既知3種ならびに未記載種2種(未記録種の可能性もある)のうち、トゲトビイロカゲロウとナミトビイロカゲロウの2種の♂だけが陰茎にシャベルのような部位を持つことが判明した。これらの種の繁殖器形態についてより詳細に記載し、交尾器の機能形態的比較を行なった。さらに、繁殖行動の観察を行いその詳細を記録した。トゲトビイロカゲロウについては、配偶行動のいろいろなステージにある♂♀を採集して切片標本を作成することにより、♀交尾器の実際に精子が放出される部位・貯蔵される部位ならびに♂陰茎のシャベルによって実際に精子が掻き出されることなどについて証拠を得た。これらの結果(1993年の第17回水生昆虫研究会にて発表)は、現在英文誌への投稿論文として準備中である。
