Research Abstract

新プログラム「分子システム」は第三年次を完了して分子機能学創成への道順の焦点が絞られて来た。各班の研究指針をA-1:分子環境、A-2:高 機能性物質、A-3:光デバイス構築、B-1:分子複合系導電性高分子、B-2:分子フォトニクスシステムとして、より鮮明に方向づけを行った。その基本指針の許で行った研究成果は下記に示す。なお平成五年度の研究集会は、"物質"に焦点を合せて11月17日〜11月19日「高機能分子システムの設計と構築」の表題の許に開催。また当初からの計画である"分子機能学"出版については、執筆者を決定し、平成6年9月脱稿を目標に具体化の歩を進めた。
1.A-1班は、1)溶媒緩和時間に制限されない新しいタイプの分子間電子移動の機構について引続き研究をおこなった。分子間電子移動速度が電子受容体の置換基によって系列的に大きく変化することを見出した。ポリエンの振電状態の光子分光の振電構造を明確にした。2)超臨界流体中の溶媒和型クラスター分子のピコ秒ダイナミックスの追跡のためのシステムを作り上げた。3)環境選択分子会合については、極性有機溶媒中の溶質分子が少量の水の添加によって高次の会合(スタッキング)を示すことを、液体の質量分析法及びX線散乱法を用いて明らかにした。例えば、純粋のエタノールやピリジン中に溶解したフェノールは、水がない状態では高次の会合を示さないが、水を容量で5%程度添加すると、水が付加していない溶質のみ、或は多数個の溶質と溶媒が構成する高次の会合体の形成が見られた。4)光化学反応の強磁場効果(<14T)の研究に着手、ビラジカルの寿命がゼロから約2Tまで伸びるがそれ以上の強磁場では逆に寿命が短くなることを初めて見出しその機構を解明した。5)Si(100)半導体表面に吸着した亜酸化窒素並びに一酸化窒素の紫外光化学について研究を行った。特に、亜酸化窒素の光解離によって脱離してくる窒素分子が特異な空間分布を持つことを明らかにした。
2.A-2班では、特異な構造(分子、固体)に由来する新しい物性の発現を探索している。平成5年度は、以下に具体的に示した成果を得た。1)分子性誘導体において、プロトントンネリングによる量子相転移現象を見出した。2)シリコンポリマーの1次元励起子の光電物性を明らかにした。3)有機太陽電池関連物質などと無機固体の界面、直鎖アルカン超薄膜の電 子構造を、光電子分光法、軟X線吸収法により明らかにした。4)2次元的有機超伝導体の面内と面間の超伝導状態における伝導特性の相違を明らかにした。5)C_<60>(TDAE)錯体の強磁性特性を明らかにした。6)C_<70>のアルカリ金属錯体は全て絶縁体であることを明らかにした。7)互変異性に基づく新しい物質として、"量子常誘導体"を創出した。
3.A-3班は、配置を固定したポルフィリン電荷分解系として、Mg-及びフリーベース混合ポルフィリン、フリーベースに芳香族スペーサーを介したZn-ポルフィリン、カロチノイドポルフィリン等を取り上げ、電子移動反応を超高速分光法で調べた。蛋白質に対しては昨年度製作した紫外共鳴ラマン分光器を用い、植物の光形態形成の光受容タンパクであるフィトクロムの紫外共鳴ラマンスペクトルを観測することに初めて成功した。また生合成された形から生理活性形に変る光化学反応の共鳴ラマン散乱よりプロトン移動の情報を得た。人工系として、光機能性を有するダイヤモンド電極をフィラメントCVD法を用いて作製し、p型半導体電極特性を確認した後炭酸ガス還元を行った。TiO_2電極の酸化反応機構も調べ、光触媒特性を比較検討した。
4.B-1班は、多種多様な分子が発現する光子・電子・イオンに対する応答機能集積化のための分子システムを構築し、これにより分子素子機能を実際に発現させるため秩序構造を有する分子組織体の高次組織化を行った。まず、導電性高分子のメゾスコピックレベル構造制御による量子効果を明らかにするとともに、新規秩序分子システムにおける励起子局在と電子移動機能制御を行った。また、側鎖置換型導電性高分子の結晶構造の温度依存性とそのヒステリシス、ドーピングによる変化を明らかにし、フラーレンとの複合体における光誘起電解移動を見だした。さらに、プラズマ重合法による高導電性有機薄膜材料の創出とESR解析、主鎖内に窒素を含むポリエンの第2次超分極率の量子化学的検討、精製フラーレンナノチューブの電子物性解析をおこなった。一方、LB多層膜を用いて、層間の励起子移動とフォトクロミック反応による2次元並列型光論理分子素子構築の一環として、直列2入力型フォトクロミック多層膜の構築と、励起移動における非平衡現象などを見い出した。
5.B-2班は、非線形光応答するフォトクロミック分子としてピラン誘導体を見出し、その2光子光反応機構を解明した。また、電子供与基と受容基とを合わせもつジアリールエテン分子を高分子側鎖へ導入することにより、熱しきい値をもつ光発色分子システムを構築した。高輝度指向性発光素子をめざし有機分子からなるダブルヘテロ構造の光マイクロキャビティを試作し、干渉効果により指向性をもつエレクトロルミネスセンスの発生に成功し、その理論的解析から指向性発光素子の設計指針を明らかにした。新規なアモルファス分子材料として、種々のアリールヒドラゾン類およびpi電子系スターバースト分子を合成し、アモルファス状態形成に必要な分子構造要件を明らかにした。また、これらの材料についてガラス状態における電荷輸送特性を解明した。高効率光電変換分子素子構造のため、LB膜単層内電子移動過程の検討をすすめるとともに、膜構造を解析する新しい走査プローブ顕微鏡を開発した。
