Research Abstract |
It is an urgent request of the power system operators to have the automated systems that support power systems operations, planning, and management. It is expected that the reliability of the system is improved with the system. The automated system for power system operations, planning, and management is developed and used in the utility company in Japan. The automated system must be made flexible so that it can be used in many countries including Korea. In this project, first, the investigation on the existing automated system was carried out. The system is composed by energy supply planning sub-system, demand forecast sub-system, power system analysis sub-system, protective relay management sub-system, and statistics management sub-system. Functions of sub-systems are connected each other. It is necessary to develop the efficient communication system and data base. Next, the current status of the electric power industry in Korea is studied. In Korea, since the demand is increasing very rapidly, integrated automation system must be introduced in the near future. The functions of sub-systems are being installed. The fundamental concept for the totally integrated system and the design of the data base, however, must be provided immediately.
