Research Abstract

本研究のテーマは工学とくに応用数理の分野でソリトン理論の積極的な応用をはかり、新しい視点を加えることである。得られた主要な結果は以下の通りである。
1.数列の加速法に用いられる非線形差分方程式とソリトン方程式の関係を調べ、新しい加速法を提案した。また、行列の固有値の数値計算アルゴリズムと離散ソリトン方程式の関連を調べ、新しい型のソリトン方程式を導くとともにアルゴリズムに新しい解釈を与えた。また、数値計算の誤差の評価に有用となる保存量の計算に成功した。
2.離散電気回路におけるソリトン貯蔵と加速の実験およびソリトン圧縮の実験を行い、回路に貯蔵されたソリトンを加速する実験にも成功した。これらの実験は、ダイナミック・ソリトン・メモリー等への応用可能性を開くものである。
3.可積分系の符号理論への応用に関して,モーメントから戸田分子のタウ関数を通じて有理関数を再構成する過程を有限体上で実行することにより,受信されたシンドロームからエラーの位置と値を計算するアルゴリズムを開発した。
4.線形成計画法のKarmarkarの内点法の力学系とその一般化の解の挙動と平衡点の安定性を可積分系の立場から検討し、新しい知見を加えた。
5.固体の素励起である励起子系と量子可積分系であるXXZスピン系との等価性を見いだし、励起子の束縛状態について詳しい知見を得た。この結果は光物性へのソリトン理論の新しい応用を与えるものである。
6.ソリトンセルオートマトンを可積分方程式の非解析的な極限とみなすことにより、ソリトン方程式との直接の関係を明らかにした。この結果はソリトン理論のまったく新しい展開を提出するものである。
