KeywordsElectrical blanket / Deep body temperature / Skin temperature / Urinary melatonin / Electrical magnetic field
Research Abstract

The main results are summarized as follows :
1 Rectal temperature during night sleep was clearly kept highr with the usage of electrical blanket than otherwise. Mean skin temperature calculated from several sites was nearly identical between two conditions of electrical blanket and no electrical blanket. Bed climate (temperature, humidity) was also same. Therefore, we presume that different level of rectal temperature during night sleep between two conditions should be due to other factors except for thermal ones.
2 Metabolites of urinary melatonin during night sleep were lower in electrical blanket than otherwise. These might be related with higher rectal temperature during the night nighttime.
3 Electrical magnetic field was measured quantitatively during the usage of electrical blanket.
