『A【greater than or equal】B【greater than or equal】0をみたすヒルベルト空間上の作用素があるとき、次の不等式がなりたつ(B^vA^pB^v)^<1/q>【greater than or equal】(B^vB^pB^v)^<1/q>ただしr【greater than or equal】0,p【greater than or equal】0,q【greater than or equal】1かつ(1+2r)q【greater than or equal】p+2r』これが1987年にProc. Amor. Math. Soc. で確立されたFuruta inegualityである。この作用素不等式の更なる発展とその応用の大きな前進があった。主なものとしてはAndo-Hiaiによるlog majorizationという大変美しい有用な理論への応用である。つまりこのlog majorizationの主定理と同値である作用素不等式とFuruta ineqgualityをinterpolateする作用素不等式を確立した。これはKosakiのtrace inequalityの一般化やrelatiue operatov entropyの一般化の研究にも応用された。更にlaogA【greater than or equal】logBをみたす作用素の特性化も得られた。Juruta inqualityの応用としてAluthge transformationの一般化も得られた。
