| Research Abstract |
本年度はIRTSの観測が実施され、搭載された中間赤外分光器(MIRS)により全天のほぼ7%の4.6-12ミクロンの拡散光の分光観測に成功した。感度の絶対較正・変化の補正を行ない、観測データの評価を行なった。若干当初の予想より感度の劣化が認められたものの、ほぼ予定の観測が行なわれたことを確認した。さらにIRTS/MIRSのデータ処理のソフトウェアの開発を行なった。
本年度は、これらの作業から、銀河面に、炭化水素系の物質から放射されていると考えれている中間赤外の赤外未同定バンドの存在を、世界で初めて明らかにした。また、知られていなかったいくつかの電離領域で、このような赤外バンドが放射されていることも示すことができた。このように星間空間中での炭化水素系の物質の存在が普遍的であることを観測的に証明することができ、当初計画した拡散光の解析をほぼ完了した。
