Research Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to make the relationship clear between the spontaneous tumor reduction and apoptosis in neuroblastoma using molecular biologocal technics. Only 20% cases were demonstrated apoptotic change by usual electrophoresis stained with ethidium bromide, but 100% by isotope labelling method which used to elevate the sensitivity (Frank method). The degree of apoptosis showed no significant diference between the tumor found by mass screening and that of advanced one found by clinically Flow cytometric study were also done to measure the proliferating rate of the tumor (Proliferating Index : PI sacore). PI score was lower in the tumor found by mass screening than the tumor found clinically. We speculate that spontaneous tumor reduction may occure if the degree of apoptotic change overcome that of proliferation.
