Research Abstract |
Various specimens are observed by a zone-plate x-ray microscope using x-rays (wavelength 3.37 nm) from a cabon plasma generated by a moving slab glass laser (5 J,3 Hz) and a backside illuminated CCD. In the case of a metal mesh, good contrast was obtained by 5 x-ray pulses for the magnification of 100. For the sample of a zone plate 100 pulses were necessary for the magnification of 100. The resolution of 0.5 um was obtained. As a biological spcecimen, dryed Hela cells were observed. By 20 x-ray pulses, good contrast was obtained for the magnification of 100. Microvillus of about 0.5 um width could be observed. By improving x-ray optics, the improvement of resolution can be expected.
