Research Abstract	平成8年度は昨年に引続き、アジア諸国におけるカイコの地域品種の保存・維持状況を調査して、カイコの起源とその地域品種の成立に係わる遺伝的特性の解明について調査を試みた。 1.中国では、杭州市淅江農業大学の楼・顧両氏の協力を得て、新彊省のタクタマカン砂漠周辺に点在する、旧オアシス地域にある蚕品種の遺伝的特性を調査した。併せて、これらの品種の眠性・化性等の生理的特性を調査して、高温乾燥地帯特有の品種分化を検討した。さらに、各地で野外調査を行い、クワの植生分布状況を観察するとともに、カイコの野性種に関する調査を行った。ここに得られた知見は、今後予定している中央アジアの旧ロシア諸国からトルコをはじめとする中近東諸国への養蚕の伝播と、地域品種の成立過程の調査の基礎資料として重要である。繭型分析については、多くのサンプルを日本に送り、画像解析を行った。これらのデータをコンピューターを用いて多変量解析を行い、複雑に分化したカイコの品種特性の調査を進めている。 2.インドには熱帯地域特有の高温耐性をもつ、非休眠の多化性品種が独特の遺伝的分化を遂げている。そこで、今回南部のカルナ-タカ州マイソ-ル市の国立中央蚕業研究所(CSRTI)およびバンガロール市の州立蚕業研究所(KSSDI)で維持している多化性の保存品種について、遺伝学的調査を行った。またバングラデシュと国境を接するガンジス川流域のウエストベンガル州ベルハンポール市のCSRTI支場で、インド東部に独特の蚕品種の調査を行った。以上の調査により、インドにおけるカイコの拡散と地域品種の成立に関する情報を得ることができた。すなわち、遺伝分化のメルクマ-ルとなる特徴的な形質と、高温多湿環境下でのホルモン活性と成長の特異性等などに知見が得られた。繭型分析に関しては、中国での調査と同様に多くのサンプルを入手したので、現在画像解析やそのデータの統計分析を続行中である。
