Research Abstract	本年度の研究は、平成7年度に行われたフランス科学研究庁(CNRS)生命科学部・Galibert部長らとの協議にもとづき、グループ単位での共同研究を積極的に推進した。ヒト21番染色体のダウン症領域の解析については、榊佳之、大木操班員の他に服部正平(東京大学医科学研究所)が研究協力者として共同研究に参加した。ヒト21番染色体の、セントロメア領域、テロメア領域の解析については藤山秋佐夫班員がパスツール研究所との共同研究を開始した。また、松田文彦(研究協力者・京都大学遺伝子実験施設)はパスツール研究所等を訪問し、ヒト免疫グロブリン遺伝子領域についての研究交流を行った。モデル生物については、吉川寛班員と小笠原直毅班員は枯草菌ゲノム解析の日本側代表者としてパスツール研究所などと綿密な連絡を取りながら機能解析を中心とした共同研究を企画・実行した。高木利久班員は、ヒトゲノム、枯草菌ゲノム等のゲノム情報解析についての研究を行った。出芽酵母ゲノムについては、1996年に日本とヨーロッパの研究者を中心として全ゲノム構造が決定されている。このうち一染色体の構造決定を行った村上康文班員は、協力関係を保ちながら酵母遺伝子の系統的破壊実験を進め、遺伝子機能ネットワークの解析をめざしている。また、伊藤隆司班員は自身の開発したFDD法を利用してパスツール研究所、CNRSとの共同研究を進めつつある。松原謙一代表は、cDNA解析に関する共同研究を行いながら、CNRS・Galibert部長と本共同研究の遂行に関する総括的な打ち合わせを行った。その結果、次年度以降も積極的に共同研究を推進すると共に、若手研究者を主体とした研究交流の活発化を図ることが中心議題として取り上げられ、現在も協議が続けられている。
