Research Abstract	群馬大学では、並列・分散アルゴリズムの設計と解析、大規模計算を対象とした並列化手法で研究している。一方、シティ大学ではスケーラブルな並列計算機、及び並列オペレーティングシステムを研究にしている。そこで両研究機関の得意分野をもとに相互に研究を補完し、並列及び分散計算の実用化に向けて研究成果を挙げる目的で国際学術研究を実施した。その結果、(1)〜(4)の目的に対して、(5)〜(8)の実績を達成した。目的 (1)半導体チップ上に部品を配置し、それらの部品間を配線する問題を並列処理を用いて高速に解き、その有効性を検証すること、 (2)データ分散法と線形連立方程式の解法等を取り入れた並列化されたデバイスシュミュレータの開発を行い、並列化による有効性を検証すること、 (3)並列オペレーティングシステムに於ける通信、同期、ブロードキャスト、負荷分散、及びデータ通信の信頼性について論理的解析及び実験・検証を行うこと (4)並列計算機上での実用システム開発のためのプラットフォームを開発し、応用システムの開発経験をフィードバックすること。実績 (5)半導体チップ上に部品を配置する処理を並列、階層的に行うアルゴリウムを開発、実験して、並列処理の効果と問題点を明らかにした、 (6)並列デバイスシミュレータのプロトタイプを開発し、実験環境を構築した、 (7)シティ大学で研究対象としている、分散配置されネットワーク結合された計算機上の並列オペレーティングシステムを対象として、通信、同期、ブロードキャスト、負荷分散などの理論的解析及び実験・検証を実施した、 (8)シティ大学で開発したオペレーティングシステムを使用して、実用システム開発のためのプラットフォームを一部開発し、実験した。
