| Research Abstract |
マニラ(フィリピン)においては、道路網が比較的良く整備され、かつ未だ自動車保有率が低い水準にとどまりながら交通渋滞がきわめて深刻である。本研究では、その主要原因が局地的交通容量の低下にあることに着目し、マニラのみならず東京、ソウル(韓国)、バンコク(タイ)で実態調査を行い、その調査結果より得られる各交通流特性データの相互比較によって、その因果関係を網羅的に整理するものである。
上記4カ国における実態調査の結果、得られた知見の一部を以下に示す。
1.各国の飽和交通流率を計測したところ、マニラ(1784台/時/車線),バンコク(1817台/時/車線))、東京(1931台/時/車線)、ソウル(2024台/時/車線)であった。この結果、マニラ・バンコク間の飽和交通流率に大きな差異は認められず、かつ両者は東京・ソウルと比べて大きくかけ離れていることがわかる。ビデオ観察の結果、これは、進路変更回数等に代表される運転者の行動特性および車両特性によるところが大きい。
2.発進損失時間は、マニラ(5.14秒)、バンコク(4.28秒)、ソウル(3.29秒)、東京(2.69秒)であった。この値は、車両の走行性能を特徴づける、車両の検査基準の厳しさおよび所得水準の高さが反映されたといえる。
今後、上記比較結果を用いて、マニラにおける交通容量の低下および渋滞発生のメカニズムを解明し、道路交通改善方策を提示する予定である。
