Research Abstract |
The aims of this research project are to clarify the dynamics of fast ion movement in solids, to create new fast ion conducting solids and to develop their technological applications. Our group consists of a head of this Research on Priority Area, leaders of each project group (A01 : Structural research group, A02 : Dynamics and measurement group, A03 : Synthesis group and A04 : Application group) and members of evaluation committee. We have managed and supervised 4 projected research groups as well as 50 adopted research projects in order to advance the entire research smoothly and effectively. We have arranged meetings so as to collaborate on the researches which were made by the investigators among different groups and have reinforced the equipment for experimental research in order for the members to use them effectively. During this fiscal year, our entire team for Research on Priority Area had three plenary meetings (the first one : for a previous arrangement, the second : for an intermediate discussion and the third : for an open forum on the research results). These meetings accelerated thd advance in our entire research as well as individual researches. We have published a book of the final reports in this fiscal year. Under these support activities, our Research on Priority Area has succeeded in preparing artificial lattices of ion conducting oxides and in getting instructive information for clarification of ion dynamics. Also, we could create some new fast ion conducting solids and could develop the research area of solid state ionics.
