Research Abstract |
The objective of the three-year (1995-1997) project research, a Priority Area Research Program for "Molecular Superstructure-Design and Creation-" is to promote the researches and extend its area which will construct "Molecular Suprastructure" through fundamental researches on the basis of systematic molecular design concept. The multidisciplinary composition of the research group was intended to provide opportunities for cross-fertilization of ideas among researches having different backgrounds to approach their own goals. The stearing committee of the project has published The Collected Papers which contains review articles describing results of researches carried out by all the members of this project research program. This book deals with "Molecular Superstructure" and its detailed content is concerned with "Design, Construction and Spatial Distribution Control of Elemental Structure". "Design and Construction of Suprastructure by Molecular Manipulation", "Novel Function Revelation by High-Ordered Assembly of Hetero Elemental Structure", and "Novel Function Revelation by Artificial Assembly of Biomolecular Elemental Structure". It is believed that this book will serve as a valuable asset to scientists in academic, governmental and industrial institutions, especially because they will recognize from this book newly developing research areas of materials which were brought about only through the intensive cooperation between multidisciplinary researchers.
