Research Abstract	研究目的:高等植物における雌雄両性の分化・成熟過程と受粉・受精過程の2つに焦点を絞り、それらに関する遺伝子を解剖吟味し、植物の有性生殖機構の解明を目指している。研究成果の概要:特に注目すべき研究成果は以下の通りである。(1)RAPD法やYACを利用した性染色体の解析、(2)イネやシロイヌナズナの突然変異体を利用した花器官の形成機構の解明、(3)減数分裂特異的遺伝子の解析、(4)花粉アレルゲン遺伝子など花粉成熟に関わる遺伝子の解析、(5)ミトコンドリア遺伝子の花粉形成時に注目した雄性不稔性の機構解明、(6)アブラナ科自家不和合性に関するS多重遺伝子のクローニングとアンチセンス遺伝子導入による機能推定、および、FISHによるゲノム構造の解析。(7)S-RNase型自家不和合性に関与するS-RNaseのX線結晶解析、(8)サツマイモやユリの自家不和合性の解析、(9)イネの突然変異体を用いた初期胚発生の解析、(10)ニンジン培養細胞の不定胚を用いた初期胚発生の解析、既に多くの成果が得られており、128報の論文を発表している。研究組織と研究班の連携状況:2回の総括班会議を開催し、研究の進展状況を詳細に検討した。News and Viewsを9号まで発刊して情報の伝達に務める一方、A班とB班の合同研究会を2回、また、合同シンポジウム、学会の際のシンポジウム、ワークショップ、若手研究者の会を各1回開催して、各研究の促進と交流を深めた。研究者間の共同研究がいろいろな形で進行している。また、前年度「ディファレンシャルディスプレーに関するワークショップ」を開催したが、これを利用した研究成果が本年度数件報告され、総括班の企画が研究の発展に反映されている。
