Research Abstract	各分担者によって得られた成果を要約すると,次のようになる.(1)ザリガニ脳内のノンスパイキング巨大介在ニューロンの応答性と眼柄の補償運動を解析し,脳の動作原理にニューロンの冗長性が大きく係わっていることを確認した(山口).(2)昆虫のキノコ体が,哺乳類の大脳皮質などと類似したモジュール構造をもつことを明らかにした(水波).(3)カイコガの脳内で,フリップ・フロップ回路的な動作を示すニューロン回路で運動パターンが形成され,性フェロモンに対する定位行動を発現することを見い出した(神崎).(4)ウズラの脳における歌発生機能部位が中脳内側部であることを確認し,歌発生に対するテストステロンが歌パターンを切り替えることなどを見い出した(青木).(5)ウミフクロを用いて,セロトニ作動性ニューロン,ヒスタミン作動性ニューロンなどの神経系築を明かにした(桑沢).(6)魚類嗅球の僧帽細胞と顆粒細胞間のシナプスで,長期増強現象を見い出した(佐藤).(7)棘胞動物,棘皮動物,環形動物,軟体動物,節足動物,脊椎動物などから約80種類の新規生理活性ペプチドを同定した(宗岡).(8)カエル視蓋ニューロンのシナプス電位と視神経の電気刺激によるフィールドの電位の解析を行い,シナプス電位の時空間受容野,視蓋の細胞構築と深さ方向の情報の流れの関係をなどを明かにした(松本).(9)各種昆虫の脳構造の比較,学習行動などについて解析し,これらが昆虫の生活様式に適応していることを見い出した(藤).(10)ゲンジボタルの脳に投射する6種類の感覚子を精査するとともに,種々の方法でワモンゴキブリのキノコ体を調べ,キノコ体が階層的に機能単位が並列する構造であることを明かにした(冨永).(11)ヒドラの神経環の機能を調べ,神経環が摂食反応の発現に必須ではなく,より高次な機能に関係していることなどを明らかにした(小泉).
