Research Abstract |
From the study using guestionnaire to about 10,500 children of 4th, 5th, and 6th class at 20 primary schools in Matsudo-, & Ichikawa-city of Chiba-pref., Koutou-& Katsushika-ward of Metropolitan Tokyo, it was found that about 40% of children met any of crimes. The places where crime might often happen, have evident spatial characteristics, which were for example parks and green area located backside of buildings at housing estates, parks surrounded by car parking on the streets, declining shopping street, ets. The place which was quite safe against crime was where neighbors could be concerned with what happened outdoors.
