Research Abstract

In order to study the possibility of practical use of the blood flow, we investigated experimentally the pressure drop and heat transfer of the pulsated solid-fluid flow (disk is used for solid and silicon oil is for fluid) in a pipe and obtained the following results :
1.The effects of the number density of the disk, the ratio of the diameters of the disk and the pipe, and the Reynolds number of the flow on the pressure drop are found.
2.The effects of the number density of the disk and the Reynolds number of the flow on the difference of the velocities of the fluid flow and the disk.
3.The heat transfer coefficient on the wall is obtained for various number densities of the disk and Reynolds numbes of the flow.
4.The pressure drop, the velocity difference, and heat transfer coefficient are obtained for pulsated flow and the effects of amplitude and frequency of the pulsation on those properties are found.
