Research Abstract

本研究は,人間の視覚情報処理過程の全体像,内部構造を解明するために,視覚系の並列機構及び階層機構を計算機上のモデルとして実現し,個々のモジュールの特性,モジュール間の相互作用,及び視覚系全体の多次元的・動的特性を評価・解析できるシステムを開発することを目的とした.
1.視知覚現象解析システム(ソフトウェア)の開発
錐体・杆体による光情報の受容過程にはじまり,明暗・色彩・運動など基本的知覚属性の形成過程とその相互作用,形態知覚の形成過程,さらに知覚空間の生成と対象の定位といった高次過程を含む視覚系全体の機構を階層的・並列的情報処理システムとして計算機上に実現し,システムを構成する各モジュールの特性,モジュール間の相互作用,及びシステム全体としての動作特性を総合的・定量的に解析できるシステム(ソフトウェア)の概念的枠組みを作成した。
2.視覚情報処理機構の解析シミュレーションシステムの試作
種々の視覚刺激と明るさ,色彩,運動,奥行きなどの知覚属性の対応関係を,階層間の変換機能をパラメータとして操作するシミュレーションシステムを試作し、これを視覚系の情報処理機能,各階層の脳内表現,知覚現象との関係に展開する方法を検討した。
