Research Abstract

A basic measuring system for liquid-gas two phase flows has been established by utilizing Phase Doppler Velocimetry (PDV). In order to check the system, an experimental rig was set up to facilitate vertical flows at steady/transient operation.
The present PDV system revealed the details of various bubble size distribution according to the pressure level and flow velocity within the test channel, which was checked by optical visualization technique as well.
It can be concluded that the present system provides a useful tool for monitoring the bubble flows including cryogenic fluids.
